The short version: your body photos are sent to our server and to our AI providers, OpenAI and Google, to be analyzed, and are then deleted. The originals never leave your phone's storage except for that analysis. Your scan history lives on your device. You can delete everything, anytime, in Settings. We don't run ads, we don't sell data, and we don't track you across other apps.
Photos and body analysis
- When you take a scan, your photo is sent over an encrypted connection to our server (api.aiappnation.com), analyzed in memory to produce your physique score, and deleted immediately after processing. It is never written to disk on our servers, never stored in a database, and never used to train models.
- The same applies to the optional "projection" image: your photo is processed in memory to generate the AI illustration, then discarded.
- The original photo stays on your device, saved inside the app's own storage so the app can show your before/after comparison. Deleting your scans in Settings removes these copies.
- Third-party AI providers. The analysis is performed by AI providers acting as our processors for that single request: OpenAI (your physique score, and the projection image) and Google (used only as a backup if the projection provider is unavailable). Under their API terms, neither uses your photo to train their AI models. Each may hold a copy briefly — for OpenAI, up to 30 days — solely to detect abuse of their own service, after which it is deleted. We confirm that both are contractually bound to protect your photo to a standard equal to the one described in this policy, and that neither is permitted to use it for any other purpose. Your photo is shared with no one else.
Face data
- What is collected. Statue's analysis needs your body visible from at least head to knees, so the photo you take normally shows your face. Your face is part of that ordinary photograph and nothing more. Statue does not create, derive, or store a faceprint, face template, face geometry, face map, or any other biometric identifier, and it never uses your face to identify or recognise you. The app does not use Face ID data, ARKit face tracking, or face-landmark detection. The only face-adjacent processing that happens on your device is separating the person in the photo from the background, so the app can show a clean cutout.
- How it is used. The photograph, face included, is read once to produce your physique score. If you use the optional Pro "projection", the photograph is also read once to generate an illustration of how you could look after twelve weeks; that illustration is drawn to keep your likeness recognisable and is labelled inside the app as an AI illustration.
- Who it is shared with, and where it is stored. The photograph is sent over an encrypted connection to our server (api.aiappnation.com) and from there to our AI processors, OpenAI and Google, for that single request, on the terms described above. It is shared with no one else. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never given to data brokers.
- How long it is kept. On our servers, not at all: the photograph is held in memory only for the seconds the request takes, then discarded. It is never written to disk, never written to a database, and never written to a log. On your device, the original photo stays in the app's own private storage so Statue can show your before/after comparison, and it is deleted the moment you delete that scan — or all of them at once — in Settings.
- Deletion. Settings → "Delete all my scans" removes every scan, score, and photo from your device. Because we never stored your photo, there is nothing on our side left to delete.
- Your permission comes first. Statue shows you a consent screen before your first scan that says what is sent and names OpenAI and Google. No photo leaves your device until you agree on that screen.
Profile answers (optional)
You can optionally tell Statue your age, height, weight, training setup, eating style, and the body area you want to focus on. These answers are stored on your device only. They are sent along with each scan request to sharpen the analysis (for example, calibrating your estimate against men your age) and are handled exactly like your photo: used in memory for that one answer, never stored on our server. You can change or remove them anytime in Settings → Your profile.
What we store
- On your device only: your scan scores, region breakdowns, plan progress, streaks, goal, profile answers, and saved scan photos. We have no account system and no copy of this data.
- On our server: anonymous usage records for each analysis request (a hashed network identifier, timestamp, and processing cost) used for rate-limiting and abuse prevention. These contain no photos, no profile answers, and no identity.
Feedback (optional)
If you send feedback through "Help shape Statue," we receive the text you write, your app version, device model, and iOS version — and your email address only if you choose to enter it. This is used solely to read, reply to, and act on your feedback.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Manage or cancel anytime in your device Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions.
What we don't do
- No advertising, no ad SDKs, no tracking across apps or websites.
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
- No accounts, no contact lists, no location collection.
Health disclaimer
Statue provides fitness guidance with cited sources. Scores and body-composition figures are AI estimates from a photo, not medical measurements. Statue is not medical advice — consult a professional about what's right for you.
Age
Statue is intended for people 16 and older.
Your controls
- Delete everything: Settings → "Delete all my scans" removes every scan, score, and photo from your device. Server-side, there is nothing to delete — photos are already gone after each analysis.
- You can revoke camera and photo permissions anytime in iOS Settings.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new effective date.
