Fastest route for a problem inside the app: Settings → Help shape Statue. That sends your app version, device model and iOS version along with your message, which usually saves a round of back-and-forth. Your email address is only included if you type it in.
Scanning
What should I wear for a scan?
Normal gym clothing — shorts and skin, or a sports bra if you wear one. The analysis needs to see the shape of your shoulders, waist and legs, so a baggy hoodie will give you a worse read. Wear the same sort of thing each week for the most consistent score.
My score jumped or dropped a lot in one week. Why?
Almost always the photo, not the body. Check three things: you were in the pose guide rather than beside it, the room's lighting was roughly the same, and the phone was at a similar height and distance. Statue's whole method depends on the pose being repeatable — that's why the guide exists. If the setup was genuinely identical and the number still moved oddly, send us the two scan dates and we'll look at it.
Can I retake a bad scan?
Yes. If the photo came out badly you get a retake window straight after the scan, so a fumbled shot doesn't have to sit in your history all week.
How often should I scan?
Once a week. More often than that and you're mostly measuring water, food and lighting rather than change — the number moves for reasons that have nothing to do with your training. The app is built around a weekly rhythm for that reason.
Do I need to be in a particular place?
No, but the same place helps. Consistent lighting and a plain background give the cleanest read, and the comparison photos look much better later on.
Scores and accuracy
How is the score calculated?
An AI model reads your guided photo and scores six regions — shoulders, chest, arms, core, legs and posture — which roll up into your overall number out of 100. It is a read of proportion, development and composition from an image. It is not a body-fat caliper, a DEXA scan, or a medical measurement.
How accurate is the body-composition estimate?
It's an estimate from a photograph, and the app labels it that way everywhere it appears. Treat it as directional — useful for watching a trend across weeks, not for a number you'd quote to a doctor. If you want a precise figure, get a DEXA scan.
The score feels harsh.
It's designed to be honest rather than encouraging, because a score that flatters you can't tell you anything useful when it goes up. The app never uses that number to punish you — nothing gets taken away, there's no disappointed character, and your statue never un-carves.
Why does my profile matter?
Your optional answers — age, height, weight, training setup, eating style, focus area — let the analysis calibrate against a sensible comparison and let the plan target the right things. They're stored on your device and are never kept on our servers. You can edit or clear them in Settings → Your profile.
The plan and projections
Where do the plan's numbers come from?
Published research, cited in the app. Tap any recommendation — protein targets, weekly hard sets, steps, sleep — and you can read the source it came from. Nothing in the plan is a number we made up because it sounded right.
I don't have a gym. Is the plan useless to me?
No. During setup you say whether you have a full gym, some equipment at home, or nothing at all, and the plan is built around that answer. The bodyweight version is a genuine plan with the same targets, not a stripped-down apology.
What if my score stops moving?
Statue watches for that. If you stall for a couple of weeks, the plan adjusts what it's asking of you rather than repeating the same instructions more loudly.
How realistic is the 12-week projection?
It's an AI illustration of a plausible twelve weeks of consistent work — deliberately realistic rather than aspirational, and clearly labeled as an illustration every time it appears. It's not a promise. At week 12 you compare it against your actual photo, which is the honest part of the exercise.
Subscription and billing
What do I get for free?
Three guided scans, your overall score out of 100, your statue and the carve as it happens, and your scan photos kept on your phone. No card required.
What does Pro cost?
$4.99 per week, or $39.99 for a year. Weekly starts with a 3-day free trial. Pro unlocks the six-region breakdown, the body-composition estimate, the cited 12-week plan and its how-to guides, your AI projection, the weekly trend and milestones.
How do I cancel?
On your iPhone: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Statue → Cancel. Apple handles all billing, so cancellation goes through them and takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for. Cancelling during a free trial costs you nothing as long as you do it before the trial ends.
I paid but Pro isn't unlocked.
Open Settings inside Statue and tap Restore purchases — that re-checks your Apple account and is the fix for the great majority of cases, including a new phone. If it still doesn't unlock, email us with the date of purchase and we'll sort it out.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — we have no ability to issue one. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and request it there. If the reason is something broken in the app, tell us too so we can fix it.
Data and devices
Where are my photos kept?
On your device. A scan photo is sent over an encrypted connection to be analyzed, processed in memory, and deleted immediately afterwards — never written to disk on our servers, never used to train models. The original stays in the app's storage on your phone so it can show your comparisons. Full detail is on the privacy page.
How do I delete everything?
Settings → Delete all my scans removes every scan, score and photo from your device. There's nothing to delete on our side — your photos were already gone after each analysis, and we hold no account for you.
Do I get my history on a new phone?
Your history lives on the device, so it moves with a standard encrypted iPhone backup restore. Statue also has an export and import in Settings if you'd rather carry your data across by hand. Your Pro subscription follows your Apple account — tap Restore purchases on the new phone.
Is there an Android version?
Not at the moment. Statue is iPhone-only for now.
Still stuck?
Email [email protected]. Telling us your iOS version, your iPhone model and roughly what you were doing when it went wrong gets you a useful answer much faster.
